Celebrating 20 years of Inspiring Music

Saturday, July 24 to Saturday, August 14, 2010
Manhattanville College, 2900 Purchase Street, Purchase, New York

SUMMIT MUSIC FESTIVAL is New York’s unique summer institute for extensive chamber music and instrumental training. Founded in 1991, the three-week festival brings together an internationally renowned faculty, representing the finest traditions of Europe, Asia, and the American continents. Each year, students from all over the world assemble for concentrated study with these pre-eminent artists. During the season, the Festival features a daily schedule of concerts, lectures, and master classes.

Talented students, chosen by audition, participate in a rigorous and enriching program of instruction including private lessons, large ensemble rehearsals, competitions, and chamber music. They expand their education and delight audiences with public performances (Adam - link to Concert Series to come) throughout the summer Festival. Roughly 50% of the Festival's 200 students receive scholarship funding. They depend on the generous support of donors, dedicated to nurturing tomorrow’s classical music stars.
