Admission Requirements and Fees

Each applicant for individual study and/or chamber music study must submit an audition CD NO LATER THAN May 15, 2015 to determine placement and level of proficiency. A letter of recommendation from your teacher is also required if you regularly study with a teacher not on the Summit Music Festival faculty.

Students 14 years of age and over are eligible to apply. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or have a guardian designated for them by their parent while they are at the festival.

Please note: If you wish to be in the Chamber Music Intensive Study Program, your application must be in by May 15, 2015.

Audition Video

An audition video is preferred for all applicants. The audition video can include any repertoire that demonstrates best the applicant’s level, technical skills and musical expression. It can include more than one piece in order to display a variety of styles.

Financial Aid

SUMMIT MUSIC FESTIVAL offers a scholarship-work study program for qualified students. The aid includes a mandatory work study, such as concert assistant, stage manager and resident assistants and other jobs.

Anyone interested in applying will need to complete a two page application form detailing your financial situation as well as how the student will contribute to the success of the festival. Only those who provide complete applications will be considered for scholarship-work study opportunities. Please click here for the application:

Payment Schedule

Application Fee: A $100 non-refundable application fee ($125 after May 15, 2015) must accompany your application or you will not be considered for registration in the program.

Tuition Deposit: Upon acceptance to the program, 50% of the tuition is due in order to hold your place in the program.

Balance of Tuition & Room and Board Fees must be received no later than July 1, 2015.


Additional Fees

Tuition Supplement: Certain professors indicated by an asterisk [*] will require an additional fee. For more information, please contact us.


Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations made prior to June 15, 2015 will be entitled to a full refund of tuition and room and board paid. Cancellations made June 15 and up to July 1, 2015, will result in a $150 cancellation fee. Cancellations made after July 1, 2015 are not entitled to a refund. All payments must be in US Dollars and made payable to the Summit Music Festival, Inc. and drawn on a United States bank. Money Orders from a United States bank are also accepted.
